Medina Named the Safest City for Solo Female Travellers

Medina has recently been named the safest city for solo female travellers.

This is the result of a study conducted by the travel insurance website InsureMyTrip. Titled “World’s Safest Cities for Solo Women Travelers,” the study was conducted on 65 cities around the world.

The study involved data from multiple sources, including research by the World Economic Forum as well as research on women’s inclusion, justice, and security by the Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security. The outlet also came to their conclusions by looking into other aspects such as the quality of tourism, based on average Google reviews and the number of posts each city gets on hashtags such as #SheIsNotLost and #GirlsLoveTravel.

According to the findings, Medina got the top rank on the list when it came to the world’s safest cities for solo female travellers, being given a perfect 10/10 score in two different categories; ‘safety walking alone at night’ and ‘absence of worry about attacks based on gender’ (based on information from tourists on Numbeo).

The top 5 safe cities are as follows:

Medina, Saudi Arabia – 10/10 points.

Chiang Mai, Thailand – 9.06/10 points.

Dubai, UAE – 9.04/10 points.

Kyoto, Japan – 9.02/10 points.

Macau, China – 8.75/10 points.

On the other side, the 5 least safe cities are as follows:

Johannesburg, South Africa – 0/10 points.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – 2.98/10 points.

Delhi, India – 3.39/10 points. Jakarta,

Paris, France – 3.78/10 points.

Escape from silence

Why when we alone, we immediately reach for our phones, turn on a series, or other stuff, or do anything to avoid encountering our own thoughts? What are we so afraid of hearing in that silence, and how can we learn to bear it in order to finally hear our true selves?   This is not just a...

The First of the Sacred Months

Dhul-Qaida is one of the four sacred months in Islam. It is the second month after Shawwal when pilgrims can perform the rites of Hajj. The Almighty Lord said in the Koran (interpretation of the meaning): “Hajj is performed in the known months (Shawwal, Dhul-Qaida and the first ten days of...

Water Wheels of Syria

Slave, Equal, Guardian: Who is She?

Why is it the man who is the breadwinner?   As for the responsibility of providing for the family (wife and children) this responsibility falls precisely on the man, whether husband or father, because he is the primary breadwinner. This rule will remain in effect until the Day of Judgment and it...
