Golden tips on what to do when bread goes bad

Have you ever seen bread that lies in the dust, on the road or in a garbage dump among dirty diapers, bottles, napkins?

It breaks my heart when I see such a picture. It is hard to avoid such issues, especially in urban setting, where there is no way to feed animals with the remaining bread. Let us share with you some tips that every housewife should know in order to prevent such an attitude towards this valuable product.

1. Know your limits

Most of us go shopping every day. Of course, people prefer to eat a fresh loaf. However, try to calculate how much your family eats per day and do not buy to much of bread.

2. Have tasty fried bread

If there is a little of yesterday's bread, then why not to have it fried? Take a couple of eggs, some milk, and a pinch of salt. Dip thin slices of bread and fry in a skillet over moderate heat on both sides. It is the best way to cook a quick breakfast!

3. Make breadsticks

Another option on how to use the leftover bread is to cook breadsticks. They are easy to prepare. Cut the bread into cubes, pour into a large container, add salt and spices and a few drops of vegetable oil, and then mix gently. Spread on a baking sheet in an even layer and in the oven, preheated to 180 degrees, for 10-15 minutes. You may have breadsticks with soup, broth or eat them just like that. On the other hand, you can go ahead and make breadcrumbs. They are useful for meatballs, nuggets, battered vegetables and other dishes. Just grind the breadcrumbs in a blender or coffee grinder. They must be stored in an airtight container.

4. Freeze everything!

This ingenious life hack is used by all experienced housewives. Do you want your breakfast bread to be as hot, as if from the oven? Well, cut the loaf into portioned pieces, pack it in freezer bags and put it into the freezer. As soon as we need fresh bread, we take out the required amount and heat it over low heat in a dry pan under a lid. The same way you can freeze cakes and buns. Try it; the result will pleasantly surprise you.
