How to get rid of depression?

How to get rid of depression?

How to get rid of depression?

Sometimes we catch ourselves feeling depressed. We sometimes mistake this feeling for fatigue. And we understand that we have been in this state for more than one day. However, it is not always possible to determine why we cannot fully enjoy life. But considering the fact that emotions play a much more serious role in a woman’s life than in a man’s life, this aspect of our well-being is extremely important, not only for ourselves, but also for those around us on whom our mood is reflected in one way or another.

Let us try to figure out why we can feel unhappy and what to do about it.

  1. We do not appreciate what we have

Appreciating what we have is a useful skill that is worth mastering. This is called living in the present moment, which does not exclude making plans, but not depending on the past, which we cannot change and not living only in expectations of the future, which only partially depends on our efforts.

  1. Waiting for other people’s approval

We do not believe in ourselves so much that we depend on other people’s opinions and seek their praise. We should try to realize our own value and like ourselves. And never mind what others think of us; that is their business.

  1. We do not know how to manage time

Some people manage to do a lot in a day, while others waste time and then lament it. It is important to learn to organise one’s time so that it suffices for the most important things: for one’s family and their home comfort, for oneself (health, education, rest, communication), and for work. And for this, one needs to set her life priorities correctly.

  1. We set unrealistic goals

Sometimes we are so overcome by dreams that they literally obscure reality. It is wonderful to dream, if one sets realistic goals and clearly assesses one’s capabilities and related conditions around one.

  1. Comparing ourselves to others

There are many criteria by which some of us constantly compare ourselves to others or media figures - but not in our favor. These are appearance, intelligence, success, wealth, social or family status. Such comparisons, as a rule, cause envy, discontent and a depressed state of mind. It is advisable to avoid such comparisons, because each of us has unique talents and skills that the object of comparison may not have. In addition, we hardly know what it may have taken someone to achieve what we want. For good mental health, it is better to achieve one’s goals with one’s own resources and refrain from comparisons.

  1. Far from observing a healthy lifestyle

Our mental state depends on how healthy a lifestyle we lead. When, how much and what we eat, how much we move – all these physical aspects directly affect our feeling of happiness. Let us try to take steps towards improving our lives and, most likely, this will have a positive effect on our mental state.

The Explorer of Natural Laws: Al-Jahiz

In every nation, there always appear a small number of individuals who are inexorably drawn to the understanding of nature and its laws. Abu Uthman Amr ibn Bakr al-Basri, better known as al-Jahiz, noted: “Nations that do not have such individuals are doomed to...

Let the Soul Grow

Science surprisingly confirms the wisdom revealed 1,500 years ago in the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. I was given another reason to reflect on this when reading an excerpt from a lecture by Carl Gustav Jung, the founder of analytical psychology.   The psychologist asks a question that...
