No place for these five things in the bedroom

No place for these five things in the bedroom

The bedroom should be a real oasis of peace in every home. Therefore, in order to get a sound and healthy sleep, we need to inspect this room and get rid of things that deprive us of a comfortable rest.

Mobile phone

You have probably read more than once that the blue light from the screens of electronic devices interferes with human circadian biorhythms. If you do not want to suffer from insomnia, stop sleeping with your phone. Set an alarm on your watch and leave your phone in another room.

TV

Watching shows before bed is a bad idea. Precious hours from 9 pm to midnight fly by very unnoticed. It is the time when the body is filled with energy for the whole day. And, after watching a few episodes of your favorite series, you run the risk of oversleeping, depriving yourself of proper rest and strength the next day.

Uncomfortable pillow

Doctors advise never to save on a pillow. A poor-quality pillow can lead to headaches and problems with the neck and spine. The best fabrics for pillows are natural ones, such as cotton or high-density silk. As you know, the most physiologically healthy sleeping position is on the right side. A high pillow is suitable for this. As for the filler, the choice is very wide. If you and your family members do not suffer from allergies, then pay attention to classic pillows with down and feather filler. They are comfortable for sleeping and restore their shape well. A novelty among pillows with a natural filler is silk. They are filled with silk fibre (silk), which is natural and very comfortable for our body. The most economic option - pillows with synthetic filler. Their plus is that they do not cause allergies and are easy to wash.

A warm blanket

20 degrees is the most optimal temperature for sleep. If the bedroom is well heated and the blanket is too heavy and warm, it will be very difficult to fall asleep and have a good rest. There are blankets made of modern materials which do not create a “sauna effect” and remove moisture well; these are the ones to be preferred.

Dust collectors

Cleanliness in the bedroom is very important. The ancient Greek physician Hippocrates once said, “They do not get sick where it is clean.” Make sure you sleep in cleanliness. To do this, regularly carry out wet cleaning, as well as not allowing air which is too dry into the room. You need to vacuum not only the floor but also the curtains and the mattress. Remove pillows and blankets which are unnecessary at the moment. Get rid of all the things that collect dust in the bedroom – such as souvenirs, figurines, vases.

The Echo of Feminism and the Voice of Faith

In our time, the loud voices of feminism echo even into the hearts of Muslim women.   This echo, rolling across the world, sounds loud and insistent, sometimes so powerful that it can knock down those who have not yet firmly established themselves on the path of truth. On social media, on...

Emotional Burnout from Oneself

Do you ever get the feeling that you are tired not from work, but from constant internal tension, self-control, and the need to meet your own high standards? How to recognize this quiet fatigue of the soul?   This is not the kind of fatigue you can measure in overtime hours or the number of...

Let the Soul Grow

Science surprisingly confirms the wisdom revealed 1,500 years ago in the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. I was given another reason to reflect on this when reading an excerpt from a lecture by Carl Gustav Jung, the founder of analytical psychology.   The psychologist asks a question that...

The Digital Whirlwind: How Not to Lose Oneself in the World of Social Media

It is hard to imagine the modern world without the internet, instant messaging apps and social media. A young person who does not use the internet or is not registered on social media is the exception rather than the rule. Such people, unfortunately, may even be considered out of touch.   I...
