The meaning of life: do not give way to despair

The meaning of life: do not give way to despair

From time to time people evil eye become overwhelmed by emotions such as sadness, grief and anxiety or even despair

The reasons for despair can be related to life situations, as well as to a person’s character. We rarely encounter people who do not have these feelings. However, the most dangerous thing is when a person completely succumbs to despair.

Many cases of suicide happened due to this factor. Accordingly, we must act to help save a person in this situation as soon as possible, since the consequences of this situation can be irreparable.

At the same time the religion of Islam calls on a person to be strong, and not to despair and weaken. It is people with weak faith who are more prone to despair. A person will get over despair, sadness and grief, if he realises what he is created for. A man is created only to worship the One Creator.

When Almighty God the Almighty created the prophet Adam (peace be upon him), He showed him how to build a happy life. He pointed out what is allowed and what is prohibited. This is the essence of the religion of Islam. A person must live his life with trust in Almighty God. He must completely entrust his destiny to the Creator in order to find rest in his heart.

Well, who does not want to live his life in peace? Therefore start to rely on Him every second of your life. After all, everything prescribed for you by God is much better for you than your plans and dreams. You will surely realise this as time passes. You need to show patience, efforts and diligence.

If something goes wrong in your life, take your time, sit down and try to contemplate. Contemplation opens the gates of many secrets for us. Let us think about the blessings the Almighty has given to us. We must learn to see them and thank the Creator for all these gifts.

He will increase them to us by as much as we are grateful for them. The main thing is to never complain. Perhaps the situation you are in may be good for you, although you may think otherwise. Turn your attention to God and He will give you His attention through help and mercy.

Bishr al Hafi said, “Some people lie saying that they trust in God. If they trusted in God, they would be happy with everything that He prescribes for them.”

How can one attain this trust? A person can attain trust if he is diligent in five things. The first of them is the constant realisation that Almighty God knows your condition very well. The second is the conviction of the perfection of the power of the Almighty.

The third is the conviction that God is pure of forgetfulness and oversight. The fourth is the conviction that the Creator is clean of failure to fulfill that which is promised. And the fifth is the conviction that the Creator is the Most Generous, that He gives us everything we need without our request.

We talk and write a lot about the need to show patience, to trust, etc. But how one can attain these qualities? If you want to have them, you need to take the first steps and try every day to learn to trust. Do not get discouraged in this world, no matter how difficult this may be. Go ahead, trust Him and rely on Him alone.

When sadness, pain, burden and injustice befall you, remember that God is with you everywhere, even if it seems that there is not enough strength to endure. Keep believing. Go on believing and do not falter in the hope of Him. Almighty God says in the Koran (meaning), “Do not worry; Allah is certainly with us.” (Sura At Tawbah, ayah 40)

Life can be compared to the sea. A person receives tranquility in his life the same way as a storm is followed by calm. All difficulties will go away. Know this as an irrefutable truth.

O the one who has been befallen with trouble, pain and sadness! Know that your Lord loves you!

Pray to God many times. If hope leaves you, then make the following prayer, “O God, when I am disappointed in my hopes, do not let me forget that Your love for me is greater than my disappointments and that Your plans for me are better than my dreams!”

May Almighty God help us not to despair and not to lose hope in Him. Amin!
