Let us just be quiet

“I have seen many friends, but have not seen a friend who is more valuable than keeping one’s tongue...” (Umar al-Farouk).
A man, as the most perfect creature, is distinguished from an animal by the ability to speak. And we know how much the words we say count. Even one phrase can make us incredibly happy or, on the contrary, unhappy.
The religion of the Almighty teaches a person that his speech should be good; otherwise it is better to remain silent. Of course, it all depends on the situation and sometimes it is just necessary to say an unpleasant truth. And yet, let us talk about such skill as the ability to remain silent. You will agree that it is difficult not to say negative words when you are in the midst of anger, being unfairly or maybe even deservedly offended, etc. It is particularly difficult for women to restrain themselves in such situations. If you do not pull yourself together in time, then the process is irreversible. And a dozen of evil and prickly words will rain down on you. While it would be nice to remember that nothing adorns a woman like silence.
Silence can save a person from many problems. Keeping silence is a state which frees you from apologizing to anyone. Silence is rest. Silence is hiding shortcomings, primarily one’s own. Silence is an adornment not only for women but also for men. Silence is wisdom.
Finally, silence is worship that, if you think deeply, does not require much effort and does not involve difficulties. As the great classic Fyodor Dostoevsky once said, “My friend, remember that it is good, safe and beautiful to be silent.” Therefore, my dear Muslim, think it over and do not forget that sometimes it is better just be quiet.
