Why is Smiling a Donation?

“And smiling to your brother is donation”. This is what the greatest Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said and this is what the latest researches are discovering, so let us read.

Researchers have studied the influence of smiling on others. They have found that smiling contains strong information that can influence the human subconscious mind!

They found that everyone has his particular smile that no one shares with him. Moreover, every smile contains a special effect, too. They photographed smiles and showed it in slow motion. Hence, they noticed some specific movements. Likewise, a person can have more than one kind of smile relating to his mental status, what he is speaking about and the person he is speaking to.

Researchers are talking about what you can give to others through a smile. This is because it is more than giving a material thing for the following reasons:

When smiling you can transmit joy to others, which is a sort of donation and which can be most important. Studies have shown that sometimes man may need joy and gladness more than food and drink. Also, that joy can treat many diseases, starting with heart problems.

Through a smile you can transmit information to others very easily, because a word with a smile has more influence on the brain. Magnetic resonance imaging has shown that the influence of expression changes significantly with a smile. While the verbal expression may be the same, the influenced brain parts of the brain influenced differ according to the type of smile accompanying information or an expression.

You can calm the atmosphere of a given situation with a soft smile. This cannot be done with money. Hence, a smile is worthier and more important than money. So, both the least and the greatest you can donate to others is a smile.

For these reasons and others, a smile is considered as a sort of donation, as giving and generosity. And now dear reader, do you realise why the Prophet of compassion (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “And smiling to your brother is donation!”

Walking in the markets

A recent study confirms that walking in the market to do shopping has health advantages. The study was conducted on a number of people and the results were that those who rarely go shopping are less healthy physically and psychologically because walking, mingling and dealing with people puts you in a much better psychological state.

Praise be to Allah, Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to walk in the markets despite the criticisms of unbelievers because they believed that doing that is only for the poor! Kings, noble and rich men did not do that because of their arrogance and pride. So Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) wanted to prove to all people that he is a man indeed and whatever he has done, science proves to be of great advantage.

Allah says, “And they say, ‘What sort of a messenger is this that eats food and walks in the markets? Why was an angel not sent down to him so that he may remain with the Messenger and warn those that do not believe in him?’” (Sura Al Furqan, ayah 7)

So Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) wanted to prove to us that walking in the markets and streets is perfectly normal and that there is nothing wrong with it, rather, it has an advantage that as it has a good effect on one’s psychological state. All we can say is Praise be to Allah.

The significance of listening to the Holy Koran

Scientists have discovered that the brain is influenced by the sounds it hears when one goes to sleep. In fact, while asleep, the human brain can distinguish, analyze and store sounds.

Everyone could, therefore, make good use of their sleep and listen to the Holy Koran, a strategy that would help us better memorize Koranic ayat while hearing them at a soft sound. Fabulously enough, Allah, the Creator, has emphasized the significance of sleeping and considered it one of his signs.

Allah says, “And of His signs is your sleep by night and day and your seeking of His bounty. Indeed in that are signs for a people who listen.” (Sura ArRum, ayah 23)

The impact of reciting Koran on water

This is neither gem nor diamond; it is rather a water molecule! Scientific research has affirmed that the shape of a water molecule is altered and affected by words recited on it.

Therefore, reciting ayats from the Holy Koran on water increases the activity of its molecules and activates its potential healing power. Hence, such water varies from ordinary water with respect to its healing power.

Allah the Almighty says, “And We send down of the Koran that which is healing and mercy for the believers.” (Sura AlIsra, ayah 82)
