Secrets of Hajj (Pilgrimage)

The journey of pilgrimage is an easy way to acquire god’s satisfaction as the pilgrim is considered to be a guest in the house of the almighty.
The Almighty says (meaning), “Verily, the first House (of worship) appointed for mankind was that at Bakkah (Makkah), full of blessing, and a guidance for Al-"Alamin (the mankind and jinns). In it are manifest signs (for example), the Maqam (place) of Ibrahim (Abraham); whosoever enters it, he attains security. And Hajj to the House (Kaaba) is a duty that mankind owes to Allah, those who can afford the expenses and whoever denies Hajj then Allah stands not in need of any of the «Alamin.” (Sura Ali-Imran, ayat 96-97)
Hajj includes all worship, in it there is monotheism, prayer, fasting, zakat, good behavior, supplication (centre of worship), patience, contemplation, thinking in the creation of God, jihad by the soul, spending money, humility, purity and charity.

They will come to you on foot and on every lean camel; they will come from every deep and distant (wide) mountain highways (to perform the Hajj).” (Sura Al-Hajj, ayah 27)

Performing ceremonies of Hajj in the appropriate way provides the believer with a magnificent power which results from circumambulation around the Kaaba, long walking between Al Saffa and Al Marwa, prayers, throwing stones at Satan, standing in Arafat and the moving between many places, as if the Hajj is a process of formatting the human soul. Hence, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) says, “The one who goes to perform the worship of Hajj without debauchery or obscenity, when back home he or she will be without sins exactly as when was born.” (Narrated by Al-Bukhari)

The well of Zamzam is the oldest well in the world. Scientifically, it was proved that the water of Zamzam is free from viruses or bacteria and also it was proved that this water heals from incurable diseases. There are many cases of people who were ill and medicine was unable to treat them but when they came for the Hajj or Umrah with a sincere intention and after drinking from Zamzam and with supplication to God, He Almighty cured them from these diseases. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) says, “Water of Zamzam is for what you drink for.” (Narrated by Ibn Majah)

In addition, contemplation increases the secreting of certain chemical substances which leads to a prolong life.

The number seven has many indications: the number of circumambulations around the Kaaba are seven, the number of rounds between Al-Safa and Al-Marwah are seven, we throw seven stones at Satan and we must directed ourselves to the Qiblah during prayer. The strangest thing is that the word Qiblah was mentioned seven times in the Holy book of Koran as the Almighty says (meaning),
1. “The fools (pagans, hypocrites, and Jews) among the people will say, “What has turned them (Muslims) from their Qiblah [prayer direction (towards Jerusalem)] to which they were used to face in prayer.” (Sura Al-Baqarah, ayah 142)
2. “And We made the Qiblah which you used to face, only to test those who followed the Messenger.” (Sura Al-Baqarah, ayah 143)
3. “Surely, We shall turn you to a Qiblah that shall please you.” (Sura Al-Baqarah, ayah 144)
4. “And even if you were to bring to the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) all the Ayat (proofs, evidences, etc.), they would not follow your Qiblah.” (Sura Al-Baqarah, ayah 145)
5. “nor are you going to follow their Qiblah.” (Sura Al-Baqarah, ayah 145)
6. “And they will not follow each other’s Qiblah.” (Sura Al-Baqarah, ayah 145)
7. “and make your dwellings Qiblah.” (Sura Yunus, ayah 87)
