Three things to do in the run-up to Ramadan

Little time remains before the beginning of Ramadan, the month of hope, purity and light. The heart is excited about the coming of these wonderful nights and days, and in order to make the most of this time, we should prepare ourselves for it as much as we can.
Many of us make the same mistakes every year – we spend half of Ramadan in the kitchen and clean all the corners of the house the other half of the month. But perhaps this year, with the help of the following advice, you will be able to spend Ramadan the way you have dreamed of doing it all your life.
Eat or not to eat?
People will not last long without food. That is how we are created. At the same time we are not called upon to spend the whole month breaking our fast only with water and dates. Just try to stick to the middle ground: eat and drink, but without excess. Take an evening to make up a detailed menu and choose hearty, simple and healthy recipes.
Next make a list of the things you need to purchase. It is better to cook less food and to keep a supply of homemade semi-finished foods in the freezer in case of unexpected guests. By spending a few hours on planning the menu, you will rid yourself of the eternal question of housewives “what to cook today?” for a whole month.
Cleaning and cleaning again
Dear hostesses, lovers of purity and comfort, do not postpone a big clean up for the last days before the eve of Eid al Fitr. After all, the whole month of Ramadan is a big holiday and we must meet it with shining windows and clean carpets. Think about decorating your home together with the children. There is a lot of room for your imagination: garlands, balloons, posters, etc.
Planning things
We make frequently huge plans for Ramadan, but in the end, behind the daily chores and routine, we do not notice how the month passes. The only way not to drown in a customary routine is to draw up a clear road map for Ramadan and adhere to it relentlessly.
Ramadan
Day 1 (example)
- Read a chapter of the Holy Book.
- Repeat a dua (prayer) with the children after ablution.
- Call a grandparent.
- Find out if there are people in need nearby and help them.
- Perform additional prayers.
Make a list like this for each day of the holy month. You should not take on a lot of things at once, it is better to dwell on the most basic but carry them out strictly.
