Filled with envy? Tips on how to provide first aid to oneself in such a state

A person in the modern world is like a wandering pilgrim, who is lured from all sides and offered all sorts of pleasures. As luck would have it, many of those around him also try to show him how well they live and how they enjoy the benefits of this world, although in reality many of them do not have such an enviable position.

The lion’s share of all these temptations exists only in the virtual world, where people highlight their ‘prosperous’ life, although all this may not correspond to reality. In such conditions, it is very difficult for an ordinary person to protect himself from envy.

And here it is important to be able to provide first aid, first of all, to yourself. Almost anyone who sees how everything is going well for another person involuntarily feels envy in his heart. At this moment he must immediately react and reject this nasty feeling. This is his first aid to himself. Anyone who can do this will be saved from the poison of envy and a momentary involuntary feeling will not pose a danger to him.

But envy is a feeling that is very difficult to simply reject, especially when everyone around you is doing so well and the entire social media feed and stories of most users are filled with content that shows the beautiful life of the creators of these pages.

If a person can give up the nasty desire that the one he envied should lose the benefits that he has, it will be easier for him to cleanse his heart of the annoyance that he himself is not so well off. Here, too, first aid can be quite effective.

If a person is able to partially curb the envy that arose in his heart, not allowing it to manifest itself externally, even if he could not completely give it up, this can be considered a small success, although he is far from complete victory. That is, somewhere deep down he envies someone but this feeling does not push him to action. In this case, this feeling does not cause much harm, and it is possible to cleanse the heart of it, if a person wants to help himself. This is very important!

However, if a person has no desire to give up this bad habit and sometimes opens his heart to envy and, moreover, does not see anything reprehensible in this and wants the object of his envy to be deprived of benefits or not to achieve what he strives for, then in this case first aid is powerless.

Such an envious person is in a very dangerous situation, he needs a thorough diagnosis and full-scale treatment with the involvement of the best doctors. He must hurry with treatment before the case reaches a hopeless stage, when surgery is needed.

Unfortunately, this is not the extreme level of the worst manifestation of envy. It turns out that there is something worse. This is when a person not only wants to deprive another of what is the object of envy but also takes some action to achieve this. Truly, this is a dangerous situation from which everyone should run.

If a person understands that envy does not bring him even a little benefit but only causes harm – and in in most cases - great harm, he will realize that he should not only not approach envy but even allow the arbitrary emergence of a feeling of envy in his heart.

But many of us do not understand this and some do not even want to understand. As a result, many become dependent on this bad quality.

Therefore, we should protect ourselves from everything that can cause this feeling, especially from unhealthy content on social networks, which shows us that all these people do is travel the world, relax in centres of entertainment, eat in the best restaurants, drive the coolest cars, buy and wear only the most expensive branded things and so on.

Such a limitation will also be a kind of first aid to oneself in protecting oneself from envy. After all, people, in order to have some benefit in the future, give up many things in the present, even if they succeed with difficulty. Therefore, here too, one can be a little patient.

In the same way, one can refuse to watch anything that can cause a feeling of envy. After all, human nature often inclines toward a feeling or thought that has arisen in him. And envy may make a person do something forbidden or bad.

Each person should adorn his heart with beautiful moral qualities and virtues and cleanse it of bad intentions and bad qualities, especially from envy. After all, in addition to everything else, envy implies dissatisfaction with the fact that the Creator has bestowed His blessings on someone else!
