New Secrets from the Koran

The Age of Forty

Scientists have recently discovered that growth does not end at the age of 21; rather the brain continues to grow until the age of forty. In other words, man's growth is completed only at the age of forty. The holy Koran has revealed this fact for God says:

“At length, when he reaches the age of full strength and attains forty years, he says, “O my Lord! Grant me that I may be grateful for Thy favour which Thou hast bestowed upon me.” (Sura Al-Ahqaf, ayah 15).

Alcohol and Blood Pressure

A recent scientific study has confirmed that drinking alcohol causes fatal and destructive diseases. Besides, patients with blood pressure who drink alcohol are up to five times more likely to die prematurely. The World Health Organization also affirms that drinking alcohol causes millions of traffic accidents.

A sound chain of transmission reports: Prophet Mohammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “God has cursed alcohol, the one who drinks it, the one who pours it, the one who sells it, the one who buys it, the one who squeezes (the grapes etc.), the one for whom it is squeezed, the one who carries it and the one to whom it is carried.”

The Stupor of Death

Shortly before death, man undergoes certain physical changes such as sleepiness and loss of consciousness. Besides, due to lack of oxygen that reaches the brain, man becomes confused and suffers from delirium, it becomes harder to swallow saliva and breathing slows. Scientists say that such symptoms resemble those of pre-death symptoms. All glory to God who describes such a state in the holy Koran using a new expression, “the stupor of death”, God the Exalted says, “And the stupor of death will bring truth (before His eyes): “This was the thing which thou wast trying to escape!” (Sura Qaf, ayah 19). The question is who might have revealed such a scientific fact to Prophet Mohammad (peace and blessings be upon him)?

Happiness and the Heart

A recent American study confirms that a little happiness has a positive impact on the safety and stability of the heart. Researchers also say that you can protect yourself from the risks of heart diseases just by looking at life positively and giving yourself a bit of happiness through changing your negative thoughts and replacing them with optimistic ones. In other words, if you want to have a life that is full of happiness, you must have faith and trust in God, for it is the Almighty who says, “Whoever works righteously, man or woman, and has faith, verily, to him will We give a new life, a life that is good and pure, and We will bestow on such their reward according to the best of their actions.” (Sura An-Nahl, ayah 97).

Visiting Patients

According to a recent scientific research, it has been found that visiting patients boosts the immune system of the visitor for man’s immune system is extremely sensitive to what it sees and considers. Visiting patients and checking on them, therefore, boosts such system. That is why Prophet Mohammad (peace and blessings be upon him) told us that we should visit patients since Imam Muslim and Imam Bukhari reported that the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “The rights of the Muslim upon the Muslim are six: When you meet him, give him the greeting of peace, when he invites you, respond to his invitation, when he seeks your advice, advise him, when he sneezes and praises God, supplicate for mercy upon him, when he becomes ills, visit him, and when he dies follow him (i.e. his funeral).”

Earth’s Rotation

It is a scientific fact that the earth rotates round its own axis in a circular motion and that its speed at the equator is about 1,670 km per-hour, a speed that’s faster than that of sound which is 1,200 km perhour. However, we do not feel such rotation. God the Exalted says in the holy Koran, “Thou seest the mountains and thinkest them firmly fixed: but they shall pass away as the clouds pass away: (such is) the artistry of God, who disposes of all things in perfect order: for he is well acquainted with all that ye do.” (Sura An-NAml, ayah 88).

In addition to rotating round its axis, the earth rotates round the sun very rapidly, at more than one hundred thousand km per-hour. In other words, the earth rotates round itself one full rotation every day and rotates round the sun one full rotation every year and it also rotates along with the solar group round the centre of the galaxy taking more than 200 million years to complete one rotation. Let us contemplate the following ratios concerning the rotations; a day, a year, 200 million years. What is more is that the entire galaxy rotates in an enormous orbit whose end is known by no one except for God, the omniscient. The Almighty says in the holy Koran,

“It is not permitted to the Sun to catch up the Moon, nor can the Night outstrip the Day: Each (just) swims along in (its own) orbit (according to Law).” (Sura Ya-Sin, ayah 40).

Such facts prove the mighty of Creator, the great; all glory to God.
